Dwight Williams (22) got his 1st win of his career in The Witbank (ITT) over the weekend. This was a great result for his team who also celebrated their first win in on the tour. “This the first of many I hope and in front of my home fans I couldn't ask for more” a joyous Dwight said after his victory he went on to say how glad he was that hard work was finally paying off. He also said he would have a day off before getting back on the road for more training.
When asked if he should make the Sa national team he said “No I don’t think so I’ve got a long way to go until I am ready for that but hopefully one day I will make the side, Just got to keep improving”.
Matt who was at the finish line to celebrate the win with Dwight was not feeling well so only had a few words to say “Super excited and a great win. One of our biggest goals of the season was met today” The team which was started last season has moved up to 11th in South Africa and will be looking to continue to climb up the rankings in the next few weeks.
In other Team news Kenyon Van De Merve was released from his contract and was replaced almost immediately by an experienced Mickael Bosz (31) from the Netherlands who has come out of semi-retirement to help the team continue to improve both in an external capacity(by doing jobs) and as a team mate.
“I am really thrilled to have got another opportunity to ride I thought that my cycling career was over. I just want to help the team in any way possible” said an emotional Mickael.
